Blasphemy

If you ever have anyone tell you that the Messianic claims made about Obama are just hype manufactured by his opponents and that his supporters really have no such ideas, show them this picture:



The story is legit. The painting is real. There's a whole theology of icons. This is sort of an anti-icon, I think. For now, just reflect on how images affect our view of reality. For example, if I was to propose this image as a response to the one above:



Not that I'm saying Obama is the Anti-Christ or anything, but when folks start whipping out pictures of him rending veils with a crown of thorns on his head, the Abomination of Desolation definitely comes to mind.
