It's broken down nicely by John Wright. Luckily, we got this book banned from the local private school reading list when an English teacher was nice enough to give it to her class for an assignment, all the while promoting the "historical accuracy" of the book's claims.

Fact: CERN, the lab which plays an important role in his story, actually debunked this claim on their website: 'The inefficiency of antimatter production is enormous: you get only a tenth of a billion of the invested energy back.'"
Brown is right when it comes to the RELEASE of energy from anti-matter. Creation of it is a different story. A lot of the anti-matter stuff in the book is ridiculous (including the amount they have), but the efficiency of the RELEASE of energy is 100% accurate.
